Why I Hate Religion, But Love Jesus || Spoken Word (by bball1989)
Over the past week I’ve seen this video go viral. And while this gentleman claims many truths about grace and scripture, as he was speaking I found that my feathers were getting a little ruffled. Jesus doesn’t hate religion. The Law is God’s standard, He created it, and Jesus didn’t come to abolish that Law, He came to FULFILL that Law, because we were not able to. Yes Jesus called the religious people of the day vipers, and sinners and stuff, but I don’t think it was because they were simply religious. I think it was because in their hearts had become transformed into self righteous people who looked down on others because of their sin, where they did not see their own. They found ways to manipulate God’s people, and manipulate the Law for their own personal gain. I think that Jesus doesn’t like what sinners do to religion, we turn our relationship with God into a ritual with Him, and that is where the perversion comes in, that’s when we start caring about ourselves above anyone else.
Again there are a lot of awesome and amazing things this guy said, but just a thought.
